Bloom, 72, of 206 Jay Avenue, Twin Palms, Lakeland, Fla., died July 29, 1983, at the Lakeland Regional Medical Center. She had moved from Cumberland to Lakeland with her husband 11 years ago, following her retirement from the Cumberland, Maryland McCrory's Store, where she had been employed for many years as a retail sales clerk. She attended Centre Street United Methodist Church and was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in Lakeland. She was born in Berlin, and was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Glessner. She is survived by her husband, Clair Bloom; one daughter, Mrs. Janet Scott, Topeka, Kans.; a son, Donald Bloom, Arnold; two sisters, Mrs. Louella Rhoades, Winter Haven, Fla., and Mrs. Dorotha A. DeWitt, Williamstown, Mass.; and three grandchildren. Services were conducted Aug. 2 at the chapel of the Gentry-Morrison Southside Funeral Home in Lakeland by the Rev. Osborn C. Belyeu.
