Albert Perry Blough, dean of Waterloo's ministers as a result of almost a half century of service as pastor of the Church of the Brethren, died at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, Iowa, at 5 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, from coronary occlusion. He was 76 years old, and had been taken to the hospital Nov. 17. Twice president of the Waterloo Ministerial association, twice president of the Black Hawk County (Iowa) Council of Social agencies, and for 25 years a member of the board of education of the Church of the Brethren's national organization, the veteran minister had a noteworthy career as a church worker. Born in Berlin, Pa., Oct. 22, 1866, the son of J. J. and Dinah Walker Blough, Albert P. Blough came to Black Hawk County in 1888, and taught at the Sand Hill school in Cedar Township, until he entered the ministry. On Sept. 24, 1891, he married Estelle Van Schaick of Eagle Township, who preceded him in death Jan. 19, 1939. Two children were born, one of whom, Ethel Marie, died in infancy. The other daughter, Miss Marguerite Blough, lives at home and is an instructor at East Waterloo High School. The family had lived at 1315 Grant Avenue since the residence was built in 1901. Other survivors include a brother, Rev. W. W. Blough, pastor of the Church of the Brethren, Greene, Ia., and 11 nieces and nephews.
