All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ DAVID BLOUGH David Blough, aged 84, one of the best known farmers and residents of Somerset County, died suddenly Saturday night, April 19, at the home of his son, Daniel B. Blough, at Geiger, following a stroke of apoplexy. He was able to be around Saturday and was in apparent good health until after he had retired when he was stricken. He was born April 12, 1846, near Berlin, and spent his entire life in Somerset County. He and Miss Mary Rayman, daughter of William and Sarah Rayman, were married June 6, 1867. The following children survive: Charles M. Blough, of Detroit, Mich.; Henry I. Blough, of Johnstown, and Daniel B. Blough, of Geiger. His wife passed away January 24, 1912, and a son, Franklin, died August 15, 1880. Mr. Blough also leaves 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Anna Gnagey, of Waterloo, Ia., who recently suffered a stroke of paralysis, and was unable to attend the funeral. Mr. Blough was a member of a family of 11 children, all of whom, with the exception of Mrs. Gnagey, preceded him to the grave. The body was prepared for burial by Undertakers Brooks & Hauger, of Somerset. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Blough home, followed by services in the Brotherton Church of the Brethren, of which the deceased was a life-long member. Rev. H. Q.
