Born April 20, 1912, in Johnstown, a son of William and Minnie (Shoemaker) Blough. Preceded in death by parents, two brothers and two sisters. Survived by his wife, the former Hazel Fern Manges, whom he married July 3, 1936, and these children: Mrs. Marlin (Barbara Ann) Shaffer, Hooversville RD 1; Earl V. Jr., married to Rosanne Seasack, Tampla [sic], Fla.; Mrs. Barry (Christine Faye) Long, Central City RD 1; and eight grandchildren. Brother of Clarence, New Castle, and Mrs. Forrest (Ruth) Bender, Southmont. He was formerly employed by Operative Plasters and Cement Masons, and had worked for the U.S. Navy at Mare Island Shipywards [sic], San Francisco, Cal. Member of Walnut Grove Church of the Brethren and Local No. 1 Plasters and Cement Masons. Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Herald V.
