Blough, 83, of Hollsopple RD 1, Jenner Township, died July 20, 1981, in the Somerset Community Hospital. Born March 1, 1898, on home farm in Jenner Township, son of John A. and Emma Jayne (Gashaw) Blough. Preceded in death by parents; daughter Genevieve "Dolly," died December 1946; sister Noami (Hoderman); and brother the Rev. Harry C. Blough. Survived by wife, Ada Burle (Yoder) Blough;, these children: Vernon, married to Betty Gastiger of Friedens RD 2; Jayne, wife of William Moss, Hollsopple RD 2; Norma, wife of Vance "Tucker" Sloan, both of Boswell RD 1; John, married to Arbutis Eash, and James, both of Hollsopple RD 1; 17 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Brother of: Nora Yoder, Paul and Merl, all of Hollsopple RD; Edith Weaver and Irma Black, both of Florida; Ruth Stoltzfus, Lancaster. Lifetime member of Blough Mennonite Church. Death breaks union of 59 years. Lifelong and prominent farmer of Jenner Township. Family receiving friends 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the George E. Mason Funeral Home in Davidsville. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Blough Mennonite Church where the remains will lie in state from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the time of service, the Rev. Sanford Shetler, Carroll Ringgold and David Mishler. Interment, church cemetery. Brief prayer services at Blough residence at 10:30 a.m. prior to service. Daily American, July 21, 1981 [B1829]
