   Vernon Lorraine Blough, 83, Somerset, formerly of Friedens, died July 22,
  2006, at Siemons Lakeview Manor Estate, Somerset. Born Sept. 13, 1922, in
  Hollsopple, a son of Martin Verl and Adda Burle (Yoder) Blough. Preceded in
  death by parents; wife, the former Betty Elaine Gastiger, who died May 31, 
  2003; and sister, Dolly Blough. Survived by son, Roger E. Blough, married
  to the former Deborah Shaffer, Friedens; grandchildren, William V. Blough
  and Cynthia Jo Blough, both of Friedens. Also survived by brothers and
  sisters, Mrs. William (Jane) Moss, Hollsopple, Mrs. Carl (Norma) Fisher,
  Hollsopple, John A. Blough, Jerome, Mrs. Vance (Grace) Sloan, Hollsopple and
  James Blough, Hollsopple. Member of Friedens Lutheran Church. He was a U.S.
  Army veteran of World War II. Had worked as a heavy equipment operator for 3
  S Coal, retiring in 1979. Was a member and past president of Friedens Lions 
  Club, Life member of Friedens Volunteer Fire Company, International 
  Brotherhood of Teamsters S.W. Pa. and West Md. locals. Friends received from
  2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset,
  and one hour prior to the service at the church, which will be conducted at
  1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Friedens Lutheran Church, Friedens. The Rev. Edward 
  DeVore officiating. Interment, Friedens Cemetery. Contributions may be made
  to Friedens Lutheran Church, 131 South Main St., Friedens PA 15541.
