Born Aug. 17, 1924, in Mercer County, son of Andrew and Susan (Gnagy) Bochy. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Nicholas Bochy; and sisters, Margaret Porkalab and Annie Swartz. Survived by wife, the former Donna Evelyn Boyd, to whom he was married 56 years; son, Paul B. Bochy, Somerset; brothers and sisters, Andrew Bochy Jr. and wife, Bessie, Grove City; Mrs. Irene Haydu, Niles, Ohio; Joseph Bochy and wife, Loretta, Sharon; and Mrs. Holis (Julia) Filson, Port Orange, Fla. A 1942 graduate of Mercer High School, 1951 graduate with a B.S. from Penn State University and a 1961 graduate with a M.S. from West Virginia University. U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Worked until his retirement in 1988 as an extension agent for the Somerset County Extension program with 37 years of service. Also a member of American Legion Post 181 and VFW Post 554. Also past president of the Somerset Historical Center, also a member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church where he was an elder, and Somerset Rotary Club. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset. A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Somerset. The Rev. Keith M. Fink officiating. Interment Somerset County Memorial Park.
