DENNIS BOCKES

  Dennis Bockes, 86, a retired farmer, died at his home at Rockwood, Tuesday 
morning, April 8.  He was born June 13, 1860, in Summit Township, on what is now 
known as the Austin Walters farm, the son of the late Benjamin and Eliza 
(Kretchman) Bockes.
  Mr. and Mrs. Bockes sold their farm in Summit Township two years ago and 
bought a home in Rockwood.
  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Bockes, and the following children: Mrs. 
Grace Sanner, Rockwood; Mrs. Elizabeth Conn, Somerset R.D., and Walter Bockes at 
home; also by four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two half 
brothers, William Bockes of Garrett, Samuel Bockes of Cumberland, and two half 
sisters, Mrs. Henry Bittner and Mrs. Silas Deal of Garrett.
  Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 at the Center Lutheran 
Church.  Rev. Hillis Berkey officiated.  Interment was made in the church 
cemetery under the direction of Mills and Mickey, Rockwood funeral directors.
