Bodes, 58, of RD 1 Meyersdale died June 9, 1978, Memorial Hospital, Johnstown. Born Feb. 28, 1920 in Elk Lick Township, son of the late Milton and Laura (Sipple) Bodes. Survived by his wife, the former Miriam A. Swearman and two sons: James of Salisbury and G. Edward of Meyersdale RD 1; two sisters: Mrs. Mary Harris and Mrs. Ruth Bowser, both of West Salisbury; also five grandchildren. Preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. He was a farmer and a veteran of WW II, member of the St. Paul's (Wilhelm) United Church of Christ, and also of Salisbury American Legion and the Meyersdale VFW. Friends are being received at the Thomas Funeral Home where services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Lloyd E. Sechriest officiating. Interment, St. Paul's Cemetery.
