He had been quite ill for some time but not bedfast. He had been out and about his business until the day before his death. He was born in Garrett County, Md., the son of Henry and Mahala Folk Bodes, November 5, 1876. His age at death was 71 years, 10 months and 17 days. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Alice Sipple Bodes; five sons - Ray, Earl, Carl, Harry and George, all of St. Paul, and by five daughters - Mrs. Edna Keim, West Salisbury; Mrs. Mary Harris, Salisbury, R.D. 1; Mrs. Ruth Bowser, West Salisbury; Mrs. Anna Anderson, St. Paul, and Mrs. Grace Pyle, Salisbury; also by 26 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at his home Friday afternoon at 2:30 by the Rev. George K. Ely, pastor of St. Paul Evangelical and Reformed Church of which Mr. Bodes was a member. Interment will be made in the St. Paul Cemetery under direction of Stanley Thomas, mortician. Meyersdale Republican, September 23, 1948
