He was born in Oakland, Md., June 4, 1872, a son of Charles W. and Marion (Shirer) Bolden. He came to Meyersdale as a young man. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margarette (Wilhelm) Bolden, to whom he was married in 1895, and the following children: Mrs. Vincent Ferreau, Mrs. Quinten Jaxon, and Joseph Bolden, all of Philadelphia; Mrs. Charles Younkin, Hyattsville, Md.; Stuart Bolden, Somerset; Roger and Frank Bolden, Meyersdale; a brother, Robert Bolden, Wheeling, W.Va., and five grandchildren. Mr. Bolden was a hard-working man all his life, and did a great deal of carpenter work and building in Meyersdale and vicinity. He thought of retiring several years ago, and turned over many jobs to his son Frank, Jr., but since the war his services have been more and more in demand, and he continued working until his life's end. The latest building for which he contracted was the new factory on Thomas Street, being built for the Stock Shirt Manufacturing Co., and which is nearing completion. This job Mr. Bolden really took on as a public service to The Meyersdale Development Association which is financing the new factory building. Funeral services Wednesday afternoon at the Bolden home on upper Broadway, at 2 o'clock. Burial in Union Cemetery under the direction of H. R. Konhaus. Meyersdale Republican, December 25, 1947
