Bonno, 62, of King's Mountain, formerly of North Benton, Ohio, passed on Sept. 17, 2002 at home. Born April 17, 1940 in Elizabeth. Son of Victor and Mary (Dagger) Bonno. Preceded in death by his parents and step-father William Hughes. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Michele (Mellot) Bonno, children Lynne, married to Jeff, Lohmeyer of Gurnee, Ill., and Brad, married to Dayna, Bonno of Cranberry, and grandchildren Robert, Michael, William and Jonathon Barry Lohmeyer, and Brendan Bonno. He was a graduate of McKeesport High School and California (Pa.) State College and received a master's degree at Westminster College. He was a retired teacher with 30 years of service at Lakeview High School in Cortland, Ohio. He was a longtime basketball coach who was voted the Ohio High School Coach of the Year in 1995-96. He coached back to back undefeated teams in 1985-86 and 1986-87. He was an avid fly-fisherman who owned Native Custom Fly Road in Rockwood and was a major supporter of Trout Unlimited. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, Somerset, where a service will be held at 1:20 p.m. Sunday, Rev. Terry Marsh officiating. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be sent to Blair County Trout Unlimited at 152 McElwee Drive, Hopewell, Pa. 16650 or Mountain Laurel Trout Unlimited at 1745 Rega Drive, Windber, Pa. 15963.
