Boozer, 80, of Huckleberry Highway, Central City (Reels Corner), died Jan. 25, 2000 at Memorial Medical Center. Born April 28, 1919 in Schellsburg, son of Melbourne and Mattie (Wolf) Boozer. Preceded in death by parents; brothers: Harris, Ward, Craig and Crawford Boozer; sisters: Margaret Boozer and Mildred Teeter; son-in-law, Harry Slick; 1 grandchild and 1 great-grandchild. Survived by his wife of 59 years, the former Isabelle Miller and these children: Lois Slick, East Freedom; James, married to former Marsha Zeigler, Reels Corner; Wayne, marred to former Scherry Shaffer, Schellsburg; John H. Jr., married to former Colleen Emeigh, Shanksville; Margie, at home; Clair Boozer and Deb Lewandowski, Stoystown; and Emily, married to Tom Lasut, Alaska; 15 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. Brother of: David, Friedens; Ruthven, Phoenix, Ariz.; Neva Restley and Pauline Lytle, both of New Buena Vista; and Alta Miller, Bedford. World War II Navy Veteran. Retired coal miner. Member of Central City United Methodist Church, UMWA and NRA. Avid hunter and fisherman. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Rev. Alice Jean Parker officiating.
