She was a daughter of Ruth Swann Poteat of Marion and the late George P. Poteat. She was a retired medical aide. Surviving in addition to her mother, are her husband, Walter T. Boring, pastor of Markleton Church of God; a son, Raymond T. Boring at home; a brother. G. P. Poteat Jr. of Marion; five sisters: Swannie Ayers of Rutherfordton; Mamie Poteat of Asheville; Ruth Condrey, Annie Marlowe and Dorothy Poteat of Marion; and two half-brothers: Seaph and Charlie Poteat of Marion. Services were held Friday in East Marion Pentacostal Holiness Church. The Revs. M. C. Jernigan and Billy Taylor officiated. Burial was in the Chapel Hill Cemetery.
