(Chicarell) 08/28/06 Daily American Lucille M. (Chicarell) Bowen, 84, Blain, Pa., formerly of Windber, died Aug. 26, 2006 at the Manor at Perry Village, New Bloomfield. Born May 25, 1922 in Windber, a daughter of the late James V. and Dorothy M. (Miller) Chicarell. Preceded in death by husband, Thomas A. Bowen, who died in 1978, and a son and his wife, Thomas J. and Margaret P. Bowen. Survived by a daughter, Dorothy L., wife of Steve E. Kovach, Blain; sister, Madalyn L., wife of Steve E. Kovalchik, East Petersburg; brother, James V. Chicarell, married to the former Bernie Rose, Johnstown; three granddaughters, Dorelyn L. Pentz, Hopeland, Nicole C. Bowen, Columbia, and Lynn Eisenhower, Wrightsville; two grandsons, Steve D. Kovach, South Carolina and James J. Kovach, Lancaster; seven great-grandsons, one great-granddaughter and one great-great-granddaughter. Lucille retired as a department manager and security for the Nichol's Store, Ephrata and was a former member of the Scalp Level Trinity United Methodist Church, Windber. Friends received 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the William Kisiel Funeral Home, Windber. Interment, Richland Cemetery. Because of Lucille's life-long love of children, the family asks that donations be sent to the United Methodist Home for Children, 5120 Simpson Ferry Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050.
