Born Aug. 28, 1915 in Shiloh, N.J. a son of Harry Lore and Ethel (Gaspey) Bowen. Preceded in death by parents; first wife, Dorothy (Lawless) Bowen who died Nov. 12, 1962; daughter and son-in-law Dorothy Jane and Robert F. Benney; granddaughter Meghan C. Benney and grandson, Nathaniel J. Benney. Survived by former wife and best friend Helen S. Bowen of Somerset. A 1933 graduate of Bridgeton High School; U.S. Army veteran of World War II; retired photographer having owned and operated the Bowen Studio in Somerset for many years. Many of his photographs are framed and on display at the Somerset Eat N Park Restaurant. Member of Calvary United Methodist Church. No visitation or viewing. Graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 27, at the Husband Cemetery, Somerset with the Rev. Raymond E. Lyon officiating. Interment Husband Cemetery.
