  BOWER
  
    Faye Elizabeth "Betty" Bower, 76, of Confluence, died Jan. 4, 1996,
  in Ursina.  She was born Nov. 13, 1919, in Ursina, a daughter of the
  late James A. and Elizabeth (Miller) Critchfield.  She was preceded
  in death by her husband, James E.; an infant son, David, five
  brothers and two sisters.  She is survived by two daughters,
  Elizabeth Ann Collins of Ursina and Margaret Jane Thomas of Culloden,
  W.Va.; three sons, James A., Confluence, Thomas W., Somerset, and
  Joseph C. of Milford, Ohio, 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren,
  and a sister, Margaret French of Seabrook, Texas.  She was a member of
  Trinity Lutheran Church and L.C.W. of Confluence; Confluence
  Homemakers and the Fire Ladies auxiliary.  Friends will be received
  from 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, at the
  Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence.  Funeral services will be held at
  2 p.m. Sunday from Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. George Mason
  officiating.  Interment, Ursina Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may
  be made to Trinity Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
