  JAMES E. BOWER
  
    James E. Bower, 62, of Confluence, died Feb. 22, 1979, in Las
  Vegas, Nev.  Born June 25, 1916, in Confluence, he was a son of the
  late William and Margaret (Stutzman) Bower.
    He is survived by his wife, the former Faye Elizabeth Critchfield,
  and the following children:  Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Collins, Ursina; Mrs.
  Margaret Jane Thomas, Amory, Miss.; James A., Confluence; Thomas W.,
  Somerset; and Joseph C., Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; 13 grandchildren;
  three great-grandchildren; and the following brothers and sisters: 
  Clyde, Walter, Floyd, all of Confluence; Roy, Addison; Mrs. Dorothy
  Friend, Berlin, and Mrs. Mary Pronesti, New Kensington.
    He was preceded in death by one son and three sisters.
    Friends were received at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence,
  where funeral services were held with the Rev. McCurtis Allison
  officiating.  Interment, Ursina Cemetery.
    In lieu of flowers, memorial may be given to the Confluence Trinity
  Lutheran Church or the Heart Fund.
