  WALTER W. BOWER
  
    Walter W. Bower, 76, of Confluence died April 17, 1981, at his home.
    He was born May 31, 1904, in Confluence, a son of the late William
  and Margaret (Stutzman) Bower.  He is survived by his wife, the
  former Martha Fisher.
    He is also survived by three daughters:  Mrs. Louise Lytle, Mrs.
  Margaret Minnick, both of Confluence; and Mrs. Linda Hay of Rockwood
  RD 3; 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; three brothers:  Clyde
  Bower and Floyd Bower, both of Confluence; Roy Bower of Addison; a
  sister, Mrs. Mary Pronespi of New Kensington.
    He is preceded in death by two sons, Robert H. and Walter E.  He
  was a former fire chief of Confluence Volunteer Fire Company and fire
  marshall of Somerset County for many years.  He was a member of
  Trinity Lutheran Church.
    Friends were received at Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, where
  funeral services were held with the Rev. Arthur Gotjen officiating. 
  Interment, Baptist Cemetery.
