Born May 21, 1931, in Meyersdale, she was known as Jean by friends and family. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Bowers, brothers Dick and Sam Showalter, and sisters Esther Bittner, Mary Mitchell and Elinor Showalter. She is survived by two daughters, Reggie (Daniel) Bock, Treasure Island, Fla., and Roxanne (Noel) Livengood, Springs. She is also survived by brother, Fred (Bette) Showalter; five sisters, Harriet (Jim) Higgins, Hazel Garlitz, Felicia Gross, Linda (Ben) Schaeffer, Susie (Terry) Helman; two grandchildren, Jessica (Lonny) Doyle, Justin Livengood; and great-grandchild, Liam Doyle. She was a lifelong resident of Salisbury, where she continued to spend her summers after moving to Treasure Island in 2005. She was a homemaker and a member of the Assembly of God Church. There will be no local services. If desired, the family suggests individuals consider making a donation to their personal church home in Jean's memory. David C.
