Bowers, 94, Friedens, died Oct. 8, 2006, at Somerset Hospital. Born Aug. 19, 1912, in Big Run, the son of the late Ron and Lottie (Henry) Bowers. Also preceded in death by his first wife, Twila (Bargerscock) Bowers; daughter, Vivian Mucha; son, William Bowers; stepdaughter, Janet Coughenour; two brothers and four sisters. Survived by his wife, Helen (Hartman) Snyder Bowers; children, Mrs. David (Marge) Griffith and David Bowers and wife, Connie, both of Somerset; stepchildren, Mrs. Charles (Dorothy) Haney, Somerset; Mrs. Fouad (Pat) Elbayly, Friedens; and Tom Snyder, Somerset. Also survived by 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 11 step grandchildren and nine step great-grandchildren; a brother, James Bowers and wife, Anna Mae, Big Run; son-in-law, George Mucha; daughter- in-law, Alice Bowers; and stepson-in-law, Jim Coughenour. Member of Grace Brethren Church, Listie. He was an avid fisher-man and enjoyed being out-doors. Retired mine foreman having worked for several coal companies. A 1932 graduate of Big Run High School. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home. Visitation also from noon to 1 p.m., Wednesday, the time of service in the Listie Grace Brethren Church.
