  BOWERS
  
  Hazel Elizabeth Rhoades Bowers, 78, of Normalville died April 30,
  2003, in Highlands Hospital, Connellsville.  Born Nov. 6, 1924 in
  Somerset County a daughter of the late William and Ada Geary
  Rhoades.  She was the last Surviving member of her immediate
  family.  In addition to her parents, preceded in death by husband,
  Harry Bowers; one son, Harry Bowers, Jr.; two brothers, Gilbert
  Blough and Robert Rhoades and one sister, Mary Swank.  Survived by
  seven children:  Clark Rhoades of Mill Run, Shirley Johnson of
  Sutersville, Glenn Bowers of Mill Run, Earl Bowers and his companion
  Lily Johnson of Normalville, Charles Bowers of Normalville, Betty
  Joll of Confluence and Hazel Mae Platt and her husband Robert of
  Normalville; 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and three
  great-great-grandchildren.  Mrs. Bowers was a member of the
  Normalville Senior Citizens and she attended the Indian Head Church
  of God.  Friends will be received in the Clyde Brooks Funeral Home
  Inc., Route 711, Melcroft from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. 
  Funeral service will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home
  with Rev. Dennis Arndt officiating.  Interment will follow in the
