He was born in Stoystown, on Dec. 24, 1937. He graduated from Somerset Area High School. He is the son of the late Eva Marie Harcom Bowers. He had resided in Erie since 1957. He was employed for 30 years with Smith Meter. He was a member of the Star Athletic Club and Holiday Camplands Association in Andover, Ohio. He enjoyed fishing and camping with his family. He bowled for Smith Meters for about 15 years and was captain of his team at Eastway Lanes. He was well known for his impersonations and jokes. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda L. Simmons Bowers; two daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Christinelynn) Schreffler of Erie, Joanne Struzynski, Erie; two sons, Jeff Bowers, Erie and Frank (Sonny) Struzynski, Erie; one granddaughter, Moriah Schreffler; one niece, Gloria Foster, Erie; one brother, Wilbur Bowers, Friedens; 2 sisters, Mrs. Harry (Alverta) Sembower, Somerset, Mrs. James (LaVonne) Bankoske of Marion, Ohio; two dear friends, Jerry and Linda Wood, Erie. Many other nieces and nephews in Somerset. Visitation was held at the Dusckas Funeral Home Inc., East, Erie. The funeral service was held Thursday, Oct. 26.
