  BOWERS
  
  Ronald S. Bowers M.S.W., 51, of Stoystown RD 3, died Aug. 13, 1988,
  at Somerset Community Hospital.  Born Jan. 11, 1937 in Kimmelton, he
  is survived by his wife, the former Nancy Ann Powell; and these
  children:  R. Josh of Chantilly, Va.; Ms. Channing R. Bowers of
  Somerset; and Jenny A., at home.  He was a graduate of the University
  of Pittsburgh where he received his B.A. in 1968 and his M.S.W. in
  1973.  He was a psychiatric social worker at the Somerset State
  Hospital for 15 years.  He was a previous member of the sociology
  faculty at W.Va. University and the University of Pittsburgh,
  Johnstown.  He attended the Somerset Alliance Church and was a member
  of the National Association of Social Workers.  He started the group
  homes in Somerset and Bedford counties while with MH/MR and also
  started the Sheltered Workshop.  Friends received 2-4 and 7-9 Monday
  at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home where service will be held Tuesday
  at 10 a.m., the Rev. Melvin Vance officiating.  Interment, Stoystown
  I.O.O.F. Cemetery.  Contributions may be made to the Western Pa.
  Chapter of the American Heart Association, 224 Broad St., Johnstown
