  VIRGIL J. BOWERS
  
    Virgil James Bowers, 65, of Hyndman, died Feb. 18, 1996, at Sacred
  Heart Hospital in Cumberland, Md.
    Bowers was born March 8, 1930, in Crider, Va.  He was the son of
  the late Frederick and Maggie Lena (Crider) Bowers.  He was also
  preceded in death by his wife, June Bowers.
    He is survived by one brother, Homer Bowers, Hookstown, Pa.; and a
  special friend, Alzene.
    Bowers was retired from the Celanese Corp., Cumberland.  He
  attended the Church of the Nazarene, Valley Road.  He was a member of
  East Gate Lodge 216 A.F. & A.M. and the Scottish Rite Bodies.
    Friends were received Feb. 20 at the Scarpelli Funeral Home in
  Cumberland.  East Gate Lodge 216 A.F. & A.M. conducted a memorial
  service the same day.  Funeral and interment services were conducted
  Feb. 21 at the funeral home.  Rev. David F. Dayhoff officiated. 
  Interment, Sunset Memorial Park.
