Bowlby, 80, of South Rosina Avenue, Somerset, died Feb. 9, 1973, in Somerset Community Hospital. He was born Sept. 19, 1892, in Middlecreek Township, a son of the late Austin and Magdalene (Geary) Bowlby. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and five brothers. He is survived by his wife, the former Inez Ankeny; a daughter, Loris, of Somerset and a sister Mrs. Cora Faidley, of New Lexington. He was a member of the Somerset Church of the Brethren. He was retired from the Somerset Post Office after 40 years of service. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. Saturday in the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home, where service will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Paul White officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
