Bowman, 88, of 620 Mitchell Rush Road, Accident, Md., died Aug. 6, 1995, at the home of her son near Accident. Born March 10, 1907, at Accident, a daughter of the late John and Laura (Fresh) Kahl. Preceded in death by her husband, John H. Bowman, April 25, 1976; a son, Jackie Bowman; 2 brothers, Howard and Roy Kahl, and 2 sisters, Grace Georg and Alberta Mosser. Member of Zion Lutheran Church, Accident. She was a homemaker. Survivors include 2 sons, John H. Bowman Jr., Somerset, and James F. Bowman, Accident; a daughter, Joan M. Oester, Grantsville, Md.; 3 brothers: Fred and Harold Kahl, both of Accident; Paul Kahl, Randallstown, Md.; 2 sisters, Dora Edgar, Grantsville, and Lois Athey, Accident; also 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Newman Funeral Home, 179 Miller St., Grantsville, Md. Services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Wilfred Karsten officiating, assisted by a grandson, Rev. James Oester. Interment, Zion Church Cemetery. The body will be taken to church one hour prior to services.
