Bowman, died suddenly Tuesday night at his home in Boynton. His death was due to a bad heart condition. He had been a sufferer of chronic myocarditis for a number of years. He was 65 years of age, having been born Feb. 5, 1878, the son of Chauncey and Henrietta (Chorpenning) Bowman. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gertrude (Denicker) Bowman, and two grandchildren. His only son, Howard L. Bowman, passed away in 1940. He is also survived by these brothers and sisters: George G., Salisbury; Clinton, Somerset, and Edison, Cresaptown; Mrs. Theresa Sloan, Grantsville; Mrs. Cora Grove and Mrs. Carrie Shirey, Cresaptown. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10 o'clock at his home, by Rev. S. D. Sigler, with burial in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Salisbury, under the direction of Stanley Thomas. Mr. Bowman was a coal operator for some thirty years. He was an industrious and enterprising citizen as long as his health permitted him to give personal attention to his business activities.
