Born July 30, 1905, in Johnstown, son of Austin Madison and Elizabeth Susan (Hay) Bowman. Preceded in death by parents; his wife, the former Hazel Harriet Nedrow, who died on March 12, 1999; brothers Homer, Gordon W., Walter M. and Nevin C. Bowman; and sisters Clara E. Dumbauld, Verna Belle Barkley, Edith Barron, Marion M. Barclay and Ferrill S. Stahl. Survived by daughter Marian B., wife of Rodney K. Schrock, of Somerset, and grandson Lynn A. Schrock of Pittsburgh. Member of First United Methodist Church in Somerset. Retired milk inspector and tester for the former I.X.L. Creamery in Friedens, retiring in 1967 with 21 years of experience. Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Patricia M. Nelson officiating. Interment, Husband Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 149 W. Patriot St., Somerset Pa. 15501, or Meals on Wheels, 235 W.
