Bowman, 94, of Tayman Avenue, Somerset died Aug. 4, 1998 at home. Born March 8, 1904, in Johnstown, son of the late Louther C. and Minnie M. (Shank) Bowman. Preceded in death by sons John and Clyde Jr., sisters Ruth Egolf, Ollie Maust and Mary Bowman and half-brother Fred. Survived by wife of 73 years, the former Elizabeth Tipton, and daughter June Ostrosky of Davenport, Fla. Also grandchildren: Jay Bowman, Somerset, Roger and Greg Bowman, and Stephen, Kathryn, Joseph, James and Nicholas Ostrosky. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service with 40 years of service. member of the Somerset Church of the Brethren, where he served as deacon. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, Somerset, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. Rev.
