"Matt" Bowman, 79, of Salisbury died Jan. 18, 1982, Meyersdale Community Hospital. He was born Nov. 6, 1902, in Boynton, son of the late Milton and Cecelia (Garlitz) Bowman. He is survived by his wife, the former Mabel Jane Murray; two daughters: Mrs. Kathleen McKenney, Pompano Beach, Fla., and Mrs. Margaret Otto of Springs; also one son, Kenneth L. of Cumberland, Md.; two brothers: Colonel of Salisbury and Grant of West Salisbury; four sisters: Mrs. Iva Vought of Berlin; Mrs. Genevieve Shaulis of Meyersdale; Mrs. June Shoemaker, Salisbury; and Mrs. Doris D'Este of Meyersdale; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Salisbury. Retired Salisbury water commissioner and member of International Laborer's Union No. 419 of Listie. Friends were received at Thomas Funeral Home, Salisbury, where funeral services were held with the Rev. Maurice R. Smith Jr. officiating. Interment, Salisbury Cemetery.
