He was born February 18, 1933 in Summit Twp., a son of the late Elmer M. and Lucy (Miller) Bowman. Survived by his wife of 54 years, Helen (Baker) Bowman; and three children: Wayne L. Bowman and his wife Amy, Meyersdale; Wanda L., wife of Gary Gindlesperger, Meyersdale; and Phyllis A. Bowman, at home. Five grandchildren: Allen Bowman, Michael Bowman, Jerry Bowman, John Porter and his wife Brandi, and Elizabeth wife of Clifford Sleasman. Three great grandchildren: Madison Porter, Abigail Sleasman, and Chole Bowman. Also three step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. A brother of: Gladys Mostoller, Somerset, and Sandy Brown, Boynton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Korean War. A dairy farmer of 35 years prior to his retirement, and an avid hunter and fisherman. Friends were received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Price Funeral Home Meyersdale, where service was conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. David Fetter officiating. Interment Greenville Union Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Hostetler Church of the Brethren. Arrangements by the William Rowe Price Funeral Home, Inc., Meyersdale.
