Bowman, 96, died at Seminole Nursing Pavilion, Seminole, Fla., Dec. 22, 2005. Born Oct. 27, 1909, in Rockwood. Preceded in death by parents, Theodore M. and Mary M. Bowman. Survived by cousins in various states. National Cremation Society, Clearwater, Fla. Interment in Rockwood IOOF Cemetery, Rockwood. Helen was a 1932 graduate of Ithaca College, Ithaca, N.Y., with a degree in Public School Music. She was a music teacher in Somerset County and later had a business career at Gimbel's Department Store in Pittsburgh and New York City. She performed a solo recital as a mezzo-soprano in 1953 at Carnegie Music Hall, New York City. She was also an accomplished pianist and organist. She was a past music director and organist for Presbyterian Church in the Bronx. She retired to Boynton Beach, Florida in 1970 and was a resident of Seminole, Florida, since 2002.
