Bowman, 74, Accident, died April 25 at University Medical Center, Morgantown, W.Va. He was born April 5, 1902, in Red House, Md., a son of the late Verner O. and Rebecca Jane (Mace) Bowman and was preceded in death by an infant son, Jackie; and four brothers. He is survived by his wife, Amelia Kahl Bowman; two sons, John Jr., Somerset, and James, Accident, Md.; a daughter, Mrs. William (Joan) Oester, Grantsville; eight grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Y.W. (Nellie Grace) King, Deep Creek Lake, Md., and Mrs. Harold (Mabel) Kahl, Accident, Md. He was a retired farmer and a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Accident, where funeral services were conducted.
