KATHERINE BOWMAN

  Mrs. Katherine Bowman, aged 71, widow of Mahlon Bowman, died Sunday evening at 
her home in Brothersvalley Township, following a long illness of paralysis.  She 
was twice married, her first husband having passed away more than 40 years ago.  
Her second husband preceded her to the grave four years ago.  Surviving are 
three children, born to the first union:  Howard Phillippi, of Brotherton; Clara 
Phillippi, at home, and Harvey Phillippi, of Somerset Township. Funeral services 
were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Brotherton Church of the 
Brethren.  Rev. H. Q. Rhoades officiated.  Interment in the church cemetery, in 
charge of Undertakers Johnson & Son, of Berlin.
