LEROY BOWMAN

  Pfc. Leroy Bowman, killed in action while serving with an Airborne Division at 
Wesel, Germany, March 24, 1945, was returned to Meyersdale for reburial this 
week.  He was born June 16, 1924, at Meyersdale RD 2, the son of Robert and 
Alberta (Beeman) Bowman, both surviving.  Pfc. Bowman was formerly employed by 
the B. & O. Railroad.  He enlisted in the Army, April 6, 1943.  In addition to 
his parents, he is survived by three sisters.
  Funeral services were conducted at the Konhaus Funeral Home, Wednesday 
afternoon at 2:30, with the Glade City Church of God pastor officiating.  
Military services were conducted by members of John C. Tressler Post 3504, 
V.F.W., and Charles E. Kelly Post 112, American Legion.  Interment was made in 
Union Cemetery.
