Mrs. Maggie Bowman Fatally Burned on Christmas Morning

  ADDISON, January 18 - Mrs. Maggie Shaffer Bowman, a cousin of Alice and Mintie 
Turney, was burned to death on Christmas morning in her home near Oakland, Md.  
Her husband, John Bowman, kindled the fire before going to the barn.  When he 
returned he found the house on fire and his wife lying at the door with her 
clothes burnt off of her.  In rescuing her he was quite badly burned, too.  Mrs. 
Bowman died two hours later.  She was buried the first Tuesday after Christmas 
at Eglon, W.Va.  Mr. Bowman is recovering from his burns.
