BOWMAN Mrs. Mary Catherine (Walker) Bowman died at her home on Route 1, Salisbury, Thursday morning, November 17, of a cerebral hemmorhage. Mrs. Bowman had been ill for some time, but was sufficiently improved to be up and around her home on the day before her passing. Mrs. Bowman was born in Elk Lick Township June 9, 1885, daughter of George and Ida (Staub) Walker. She was 64 years, 5 months and 8 days in age at her death. She was an active member of the Salisbury Methodist Church. She was twice married, and is survived by her second husband, Milton P. Bowman; one son, Charles B. White, Akron, Ohio; one brother, George Walker, Akron, Ohio; and two sisters, Mrs. Maggie May, Boynton and Mrs. Isabelle Holler, Akron, Ohio. She is also survived by her niece, Mrs. Ida Belle Harding, who has lived with the family since she was seven years old, and her son, Johnny, who was like a grandson in the home. Funeral services were conducted at the family home at 2 p.m. Sunday, with her pastor, the Rev. L. A. McKinley officiating. Interment was made in the IOOF Cemetery, Salisbury, in charge of Mortician Stanley M. Thomas. Meyersdale Republican, November 24, 1949
