Bowman died at the Hazel McGilvery Hospital Saturday, Jan. 15, at 7 a.m., following an illness of about five months. His age was 43 years, 11 months and 18 days, having been born Jan. 27, 1900, the son of John W. Bowman and Anna Shultz Bowman. Mr. Bowman was employed by the Johnson Memorial Co., as a designer and stone cutter for 27 years. He is survived by his mother, his wife, Mary (Shumaker) Bowman, and one son, Roger, aged 12 years. Also surviving are these brothers and sisters: Robert L., William H., Oscar T., and Elmer N., all of Meyersdale R.D.; and Mrs. Gertrude Smearman, Berlin; Mrs. William Purbaugh and Miss Emma Bowman, Meyersdale, R.D. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 at the family home in Glade City, by Rev. DeWitt L. Miller. Interment was made in Union Cemetery, directed by W. C. Price and Son.
