Bowman, 77, of 14704 Wood Street, died January 5, 1983 at the Allegany County Nursing Home. He had been in ill health for the past year. He was born in Boynton, and was a son of the late Edison S. Bowman and Olive M. (Bough) Bowman. He had served as a trial magistrate in Cresaptown for 16 years until 1951. He was a retired electrician, working out of Local 307, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, and was a member of the Cresaptown United Methodist Church. His wife, Mary E. (Steele) Bowman, died in January, 1975. He is survived by two sons, Ralph O. Bowman, Bel Air, Cumberland, Maryland; Robert E. Bowman, Cumberland, Maryland; one brother, Clyde E. Bowman, Grantsville, Maryland; one sister, Mrs. Elsie M. Stevanus, Cresaptown; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary.
