He was employed by the H. H. Wright Lumber Co., and had worked the day before, and was apparently in good health, but during the night he passed away. The cause of his passing was coronary occlusion. Mr. Bowman was born in Garrett County, Maryland, on September 22, 1877, son of Moses and Susan (Bowser) Bowman, and was 69 years, 4 months and 10 days old at his passing. In addition to his wife, Cecelia (Garlitz) Bowman, he is survived by five sons - Edward, Paul and Ralph of Boynton, Colonel of Salisbury and Grant of West Salisbury; five daughters - Mrs. Margaret Engle of Meyersdale, Mrs. Iva Vought of Boynton, Mrs. Genevieve Shaulis of Somerset, Mrs. June Shoemaker of Salisbury and Mrs. Doris D'Este of Meyersdale; two brothers - John Bowman of Boynton and Peter Bowman of McHenry, Md.; one sister - Mrs. Elizabeth Deniker of Mountain Lake Park, Md.; 18 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was a member of Local No. 416, Hod Carriers, Building and Common Laborers Union of America. Funeral services were conducted at his home on Monday, February 3rd at 2:30 p.m., Rev. A. Jay Replogle officiating. Interment in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Salisbury, in charge of Mortician Stanley M. Thomas. Meyersdale Republican, February 6, 1947
