Bowman departed this life at his home at Glade City on Thursday, Feb. 20th, at the age of 68 years, 3 months and 3 days. On March 14, 1880, he was married to Henrietta Lenhart, who preceded him to the great beyond, Jan. 11, 1918. To them were born five daughters and one son: Mrs. Joseph Hersh and Mrs. James Long, of Glade City; Mrs. Simon McKenzie, Mrs. Harry T. Staub, Mrs. John Blocher and Eugene Bowman, all of Meyersdale. He is survived also by one brother, John W. Bowman, twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The greater part of his life he was employed at the Keystone plant of the Savage Fire Brick Co., and for many years was plant superintendent. At the time of his death he was engaged in the mercantile business at Glade City. He was a charter member of the Main Street Brethren Church and was an active member during all of his life. For more than thirty years he was a faithful member of the Pioneer Lodge, 471, Knights of Pythias. Mr. Bowman was a man who led a blameless life and who was honored and respected by all who knew him. He was devoted to his church and his family and had the pleasure of seeing all of his children following the splendid example of living that he set them, all being useful members of society and faithful members of the church of their father. Funeral services were conducted at his home at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon by his pastor, Rev. W. E. Ronk, and were largely attended. There were many beautiful floral tributes. His body was laid to rest in Union Cemetery. The following relatives and friends from distant places attended the obsequies: Mr. and Mrs. George Hersh, Greensburg; Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Lenhart, Earl Lenhart, Jake McCartney and Mrs. Earl Brallier, Conemaugh; Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Lenhart, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Shultz, Donora; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Freed, Pittsburgh; Mr. and Mrs. John Raupach, Cumberland; Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Bittner, Misses Sadie and Lucile McSpadden and Mrs. Harold Yutzy, Rockwood; Mr. and Mrs. Austin Lenhart and John Lenhart, Monongahela City.
