Beals Bowser, 55, wife of Reuben Bowser of Meyersdale, died Tuesday afternoon in Allegany Hospital, Cumberland, following a major operation. She was the daughter of George W. and Agnes Bittner Beals and was born in Elk Lick Township, July 15, 1889. She was a member of Amity Evangelical and Reformed Church, Daughters of Rebekah and American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband, her father, and three daughters, Mrs. John Trimpey, Hubbard, Ohio; Mrs. Charles Coffroth, Somerset, and Mrs. Marle McMurdo, Meyersdale; also by these brothers and sisters, Mrs. Mary Rhodes, Canton, O.; Mrs. Nelle Byrne, Markleysburg; Mrs. Elmer Shawley, Bittinger, Md.; Mrs. Margaret Staub, Meyersdale; John, William, and Roy Beals, Coal Run; Charles, Lewistown, and James, Akron, Ohio. Three grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in Amity Reformed Church where the body will be taken an hour earlier. Burial in St. Paul's cemetery, Elk Lick Township, in charge of W. C. Price and Son. Meyersdale Republican, August 3, 1944
