Bowser Sr., 69, of Grantsville RD 2, Maryland, died Monday, December 31, 1984, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Maryland. Born in Accident, Maryland, he was a son of the late William H. Bowser and Ruth (Brant) Bowser. He was retired from the Maryland State Highway Administration. He was a veteran of World War II, and was a member of the Brethren Church; American Legion Post 208, Accident, Md.; an honorary member of the Accident Volunteer Fire Department, and a member of Woodmen of the World Camp 68, Bittinger, Maryland. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Marian (Hannon) Bowser; one son, Fred Bowser Jr., Grantsville; six daughters, Mrs. Suzanne Dolan, Accident; Mrs. Peg Bean, Blacksburg, Va.; Mrs. Phyllis Vitez, McHenry, Maryland; Mrs. Alice Moore, Terra Alta, W.Va.; Mrs. Jo Sheffield and Mrs. Mary Beal, both of Grantsville; one brother, George H. Bowser, Accident, Md.; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Younkin, Grantsville, and Mrs. Hazel Stessard, Annandale, Va.; nine grandchildren. Services were conducted at the Newman Funeral Home by the Rev.
