Sr. 12/09/05 Daily American Thursday, December 8, 2005 Harvey G. Bowser Sr., 64, Oakland-Sang Run Road, Oakland, Md., died Dec. 8, 2005, at the Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland. Born on Sept. 23, 1941, in McHenry, Md., he is the son of the late Wilbur A. and Marie M. (Simmons) Bowser. He is also preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby I. (Friend) Bowser, and by two brothers, Harold C. Bowser and his twin, Wilbur B. Bowser. He is survived by his wife, Viola M. (Colflesh) Bowser; one son, Harvey G. Bowser, Jr. Phoenix, Ariz.; six stepdaughters, Elva Glaze, Jessup; Sharon Tosten, Tampa, Fla.; Barbara Harrold, Rockwood; Deborah Frazee, Fort Hill; Janice Wood, Centerville, Texas; and Pamela Hartman, Confluence; two sisters, Patricia Lohr, Swanton; and Rosalee Sue Bowser, Smock; two brothers, Gilroy Bowser, Accident, Md.; and Roger Bowser, Deer Park; one granddaughter; 12 step-grandchildren; and numerous step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was a heavy equipment operator for Buffalo Coal Co., Bayard, W.Va., and was a former member of the Mountaineer Square Dancers. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Stewart Funeral Home, 32 S. Second St., Oakland. A service will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Gail Hixon and the Rev. Robert Collette officiating. Interment will be in the Thayerville Cemetery.
