Bowser, 84, of 3 Grandview Village, Duncansville, died May 27, 1999, at Bon Secours Holy Family Hospital, Altoona, following an extended illness. Born Feb. 4, 1915, in Juniata, a daughter of the late Webster and Margaret (Claar) Butler. She married Earl C. Bowser on Aug. 28, 1935, in Cumberland, Md. Mrs. Bowser was a member of Hick's Memorial United Methodist Church, Duncansville. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed keeping in contact with her family and enjoyed her grandchildren. Surviving is her husband and four sons: Richard Gene of Duncansville, Robert N. of East Dennis, Mass.; Greg of Denver, Colo., and Karl S. of Friedens; four brothers: Gerald Butler of Hollidaysburg, J. Calvin Piper of Duncansville, Irvin Piper of Queen and Donald Piper of Duncansville and three sisters: Margaret Hoofer of Altoona, Doris Peterson of Hollidaysburg and Donna Shultz of Hollidaysburg; also 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a daughter. Kay Frances Bowser Mock, Dec. 28, 1982; by a granddaughter, Sara Bowser, in 1983 and an infant daughter, Judith Arlene. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Liebegott-Fisher Funeral Home Inc., Duncansville, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday. Interment, Green Lawn Cemetery, Hollidaysburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 501 Howard Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16601.
