Bowser, 87, of Salisbury RD 1, formerly of the State Line area near Grantsville, Md., died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 1987, in Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md. She was born in Brandonville, W.Va., Dec. 14, 1899, daughter of the late George P. and Minnie B. (Turney) Smith. She was a member of the State Line United Methodist Church. Her husband, Harry Bowser, died June 25, 1976. Surviving are three sons, Harry M. Bowser and Ernest L. Bowser, both of Grantsville, Md.; and Charles D. Bowser, Inwood, W.Va.; five daughters: Twila George and Gloria Reckner, both of Salisbury; Edith Yommer, Addison; Freda Reichenbecher, Grantsville, Md.; and Donna Frickey, Clearwater, Fla.; one brother, George P. Smith Jr., Mill Run; one sister, Olive Greenwood, Republic; 28 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Friends were received in the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, where services were conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Joseph Upole. Interment, Addison Cemetery at Addison.
