ALBERT A. BOYER

  Dr. G. B. Hopwood has received word of the death of his brother-in-law, Albert 
Ashton Boyer of Fresno, California, which occurred while he was visiting a 
sister in Allentown, New Jersey.  He was a native of Philadelphia, but had lived 
in California since 1914, and for 11 years was superintendent of the Roeding 
Park Zoo of Fresno, which was greatly enlarged while in his care.  He was forced 
to retire from active work about five years ago on account of ill health.  His 
widow, Mrs. Mary Hopwood Boyer, youngest sister of Dr. Hopwood, spent several 
years of her early life in Meyersdale with her uncle and aunt, the late Mr. and 
Mrs. W. T. Hoblitzell.  Dr. and Mrs. Hopwood and daughters had a very enjoyable 
visit with the Boyers in their California home eight years ago.
