Boyer, 95, of Cumberland, Md., formerly of Garrett, died Dec. 31, 1994 at Rainbow Shelter, Elder Street, Cumberland. Born March 17, 1899 in Paw Paw, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Leona (Malcolm) Grant. She was also preceded in death by her husband Norman W. Boyer in 1965. She is survived by a son, James D. Boyer, Cumberland; one daughter, Joanne D. Van, Cumberland; one sister, Thelma Lenhart, Garrett; three grandchildren: Lynn Heylman, Cumberland; James N. Boyer, Baltimore, Md.; James R. Van, Cumberland; and four great-grandchildren: Jason Tome, Stephen Boyer, Emily Boyer and Jessica Van. Mrs. Boyer was a homemaker. She was a school teacher in Somerset County for approximately 20 years. She was a member of the Living Stone Church of the Brethren. Friends were received Jan. 3 at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, Cumberland. Services were conducted Jan. 4 at the Living Stone Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Timothy L. Monn officiating. Interment, Beachdale Cemetery, Garrett. Pallbearers were Jason Tome, James R. Van, Med Heylman, Jerry Ruppenkamp, Edward Lyons and Ken McKinney. New Republic, January 19, 1995 [B2305]
