  GENE L. BOYER
  
    Gene L. Boyer, 69, of Cadillac, Mich., died April 28, 1999, at
  Mercy Hospital in Cadillac.  Born Dec. 25, 1929, in Somerset.  Son of
  the late Ross "E" and Ruth B. (Christner) Boyer.  Mr. Boyer graduated
  from Somerset High School 1947.  He was the former manager of
  Cadillac J.C. Penney's store and worked at Penney stores in various
  locations from 1947 to 1985 when he retired.  Served in the U.S. Army
  during the Korean War and enjoyed gardening.  Survived by daughter,
  Lori Holsinger of Akron, Ohio; one grandson; nephews: Barry Boyer of
  Traverse City, Mich.; Don Boyer of Brighton, Mich.; Jay Justice of
  Texas; Jerry Justice of Louisiana.  Also preceded in death by his
  parents, a brother Donald and a sister Ardith.  Interment, Husband
  Cemetery, Somerset.  Memorial tributes may be made to the charity of
  your choice.  Arrangements by Peterson Funeral Home, Cadillac.
